In the field of computer science, the aspects of coding and programming the computer languages is one of the common and important factor. This is because in this field, mainly, it dive deeply in the process of development of different software and programs for the computers.
That is why, as a computer science student, you must learn about the aspect of coding and programming the languages effectively. This will help you to uncover out all of the best practices about it as well as to prepare you with a powerful mind according to.
In this post I have tried to explain deeply about the difference between coding and programming as the area within the field of computer science.
Coding and Programming are the two terms that are interrelated to each other. However, they have a distinct difference that differentiate them.
About Coding
This is the writing of codes for servers and applications using the programming languages. This is the initial stage in programming that requires you ( as a coder) to coding the desired language codes during the process.
Coding is not hard, but it depends on what type of language you are coding up. That simply means that, the process of coding it only requires you to flip your laptop, and then just coding a certain language as intended.
Programming
This is the process of developing a software program using the programming languages by the act of coding.
Programming is a secondary stage, where by a programmer came up with a certain idea (for example to build a software, creating a game, or developing an application) by coding the desired languages.
However, Coding is not hard, but it depends on what type of language you are coding up, whereas Programming needs much mental effort and accuracy to do so.
This is because when make a small mistake, then it makes the
whole project to fail.
That's why as a programmer, you must learning and acquire all necessary knowledge and or skills in order for you to work efficiently and smoothly with no any means of frustration.
Programming Languages Used In Different Domains.
There are so many programming languages in the world
but each with its own purposes and uses. I can’t say which and which language
is best to learning about, since it depends on your carrier and what you are
doing.
For instance;
In fields like Data Science, AI, and Machine Learning, the programming languages that are mainly used up are Python, Rust, Java, etc.
In Blockchain Technology there is the use of programming languages such as C++, Python, JavaScript, and GO.
In mobile application (in android) you can interact with programming languages including Python, Java, Kotlin, and JavaScript. In developing the applications for Apple iOS, the languages used are Swift, Dart, and C-objective, python.
In game development languages used are like C, Java, Ruby, Rust, C#, C+, and C++. If you want to developing and building computer Software and other programs, then you must learn the programming languages including Python, C#, Java, C+, C++, and even CSS.
To sum up, you don’t need to learn all of the
languages, instead you can choose that match with your intent (also that relies
with your career) and then go on.
A PROGRAMMING LAPTOP
As a Computer Science expert who running your carrier, you must have a Powerful Laptop for using. Not only to have a powerful laptop, but it must have the good specifications from storage capacity to processing size and other common specifications. Having the software for coding and programming is a must have as a Computer science student.
Generally, a programming laptop must have the following;
- Solid state disk; The programming laptop must have the Solid state disk since it is very fast, and consuming less energy comparing to a laptop with HDD.
- Random Access Memory (RAM); This is another factor a programming laptop must have. It must have a Ram of about 8GB and higher. Minimum must be 8GB.
- But it is good if you will have even at least 16GB or up to 32GB. This will help the computer to be able to hold a huge number of data and instruction during the processing time simultaneously.
- Programming laptop must have a Processor with a Core i5 and above; This will help your PC to run efficiently and even the CPU of your computer to be free from factors like over heating, Ceasing, other issues like that.
- Also a programming laptop must have a built-in graphic chip; There are different types of graphic card for computers. But, keep in mind that a programming laptop must have a Graphic Card especially NIL.
- Furthermore, a laptop for a programmer must have the Software like Visual Studio Code. This software is mainly used in the process of coding and programming.
Generally, as a computer science student, these are all the requirements that your PC must have. These factors will help to smooth and fastening the rate of your workflow and even elevate the rate of your work productivity.
